I just think it's weird because of all things most people hand down old tees and nalia that they don't want anymore to Neos. How this guy got this shirt is a mystery....
It's possible that he bought the shirt. Where I live you do not have to prove to the vendor that you are in an organization in order to purchase that org's paraphenalia. Some people who are not knowledgeable about BGLOs will purchase an item because they "think" it's "cool."
Inferno, as a person who is not affiliated with a BGLO how would you go about "rectifying" the situation?
But why would he just go buy a Delta shirt?? He can go to Wal-Mart and buy a shirt if he needed one. I think even if you go to a vendor and want to buy a shirt, I think that these vendors would at least look at him and be like "for real, do you know what this shirt is for". Where I am from, they QUESTION you about buying greek wear and they get contact information so not saying that wherever you are from they don't, but I cant see why this man would have went to a vendor to buy that shirt. I would kinda understand if the shirt had like all kinds of designs, but it's a pretty blunt, "Delta Sigma Theta" "1913", and the greek letters shirt.
It's not that hard also to "rectify" this situation if you are not greek. All you have to do is ask the man is he affilated or is his family affiliated with DST. He's gonna say yes/no, probably no, then explain to him that on that shirt represents an female organization and tell him if he has no affiliation with that organization, then he really shouldnt be wearing the shirt. Also warn him about other conflict he can run into (Deltas and Ques) by having on the shirt, and offer to buy that one from him or buy him another shirt. He shouldnt get offended really.
i figured we should post when we see any flyers or postings for interest meetings at our different schools. it could help prospects that may have just missed the flyers or just werent paying attention. this would probably work better in the seperate school forums but im new so i cant get in any. i think this is a good idea though.
As A Non-Greek....
As the spectator, I find it funny. It just the other group imitating another group. Do I find it immature? No, it just keeps the crowd going and entertained. I enjoy it but at the same time, I don't really look at it like the groups are dissing, they are just acting out what they don't wanna do or be like.
I actually took the liberty to do what you said...do the research...it does say "quality over quantity" on SGRho and Zeta websites...the motto "quality over quantity" is used in other situations too in the real world, but I don't think that Sigma Gamma Rho and Zeta Phi Beta say it to offend other organizations....
To the Sigma Gamma Rho on this site from A&T,
I think you and your sisters did a WONDERFUL job! For you to have five people on the stage, I felt like ya'll were very intense and I really expected ya'll to have at least 2nd, 3rd place. I thought the lawyers who were the other sororities were funny and who is the girl who did the split??? She had me like, WOW!!! Anyways, ya'll did great and I'm sorry ya'll had the same show as the Delta, but at least you represented your organization to the fullest!!
I was interested to see if Greeks felt better dating other Greeks and if there is a difference from dating Greeks than Non Greeks. I been talking to a Greek at my school and I just wanted to see if there were positives and/or negatives to being in a relationship with someone involved in an organization.
