Hope all is well with the original HBCUCafe cast and that yall are doing good in school.
Ok here's my observations on the show:
*Why the hell did rockers win most of the awards when hip-hop/r&b makes the money nowadays for MTV.
*Was I the only one who found R. Kelly's performance hilarious? Especially when he was imitating Kathy.
*Did yall see the looks on Destiny's Child face when those hootchies came out dancing? Michelle's face: priceless.
*Ludacris had the best performance.
*How the hell did Kelly Clarkson beat Gwen Stefani twice?
*Was it me, or did the awards suck ass this year. And I hate it in Miami; I don't like how they build the stage.
You are forever whining when someone who isn't black win's something. Yes Hip hop/r&b is playing mostly on MTV but thats not all. MTV is a pop/rock/hip hop/rap station it doesn't discrimnate. So if the voters voted fairly that green day should win ohh well, green day has been a staple on mtv wayyy before kanye and game came out.
If I'm not mistaken Black people sing what is now called rock(ie FeFe Dobson, dude from Sevendust, & Lenny Kravtiz) and white people sing R&B and rap(ie Eminem, Jon B, Joss Stone). You made it a race issue, not me.
And when else did I whine about black people not winning anything?
He look a lil aight with the haircut. The dreads wasn't cutting it for me cause they were too long and weird looking. He looks much older now. I think he cut them because he felt he needed a new beginning. I bet that's what he said about it.
I saw some of the awards when i was Red Lobster chillin lol. Personally I liked the BET awards better.
The R Kelly performance was hilarious to me too Megan. Specially when he started tlakin about people saying other people's names "Chuck said Rufus, Rufus said Chuck, Kathy said Rufus" I was dying lol....
oh yeah I cosign on the rock vs. rap videos. and no... Rap and RnB isn't making as much money as we think. Rappers just flaunt theirs more.
They may not be making as much money as we think but they're what is played on MTV nine times out of ten. So obviously they get more ratings because they play more hip-hop/ r&b or they wouldn't play them. Which is making them money.
A lot of the rock videos were more creative than the hip hop/r&b ones. We gotta remember that the awards aren't about the songs themselves, but about the video expression of them. And a lot of rap videos are all the same thing these days: the artists walkin around out on the street displaying their jewelry, cars, and any big azz havin women who was willin to participate.
And R. Kelly's performance was a damn mess. If people didn't think he was crazy, I know they got to after that shyt.
I thought the Game's Dream video was kinda hot. And Eminem's "Mosh" video was hot to.
