I have a friend who just graduated and when I asked him about it, he said that it was not a good idea, especially if you are a freshman. When i went up there I saw like 5 boots on like a 10 minute walk. And the guide told me you could add like $1,000 to your total costs for the year if you plan on driving as a freshman. Plus Metro runs all the time anyway.
I want to bring my car....
anythings i should know..
like...should I wait a semester...a year?
I would say wait until Sophomore year for three main reasons:
1. You dont know the city at all so getting around in a car would be very difficult. There are lots of one-way streets, parking restrictions and my friends have told me about their cars being victim to numerous hit-and-runs.
2. As a freshmen you dont qualify for a parking pass. You would have to park on the street and parking around campus is limited and hard to find.
3. The Metro is cheaper.
