Does your school's area have "locals"? Posted on 10-16-2004

Every since I got to FAMU, I realized that there are "locals" who are the local people who you can usually point out and tell that they don't go to school, and they seem to come to every event, always are on campus, and sometimes the ones who start trouble at different parties and all. Thing is, I know that back at home, most schools other than the JC's don't have "locals" like this, but maybe that's just because it's LA and most of the schools other than USC are in nice neighborhoods. So does your school have these infamous "locals"? Or does your school do a good job of keepin them off campus? I know that FAMU is a completely open campus so they can come on campus whenever they feel like it and have no problems.

Yes! Westend locals come on Clark and Morehouse campus alot....More so Clark because of the strip.... On Spelman's campus, they can't event set foot on their campus...Spelman has a huge gate and top security... Morehouse and Clark's gate don't do nothing but provide decration!

Also all the n*ggas tryin to front like they go to FAMU, but when u ask them their major they happen too mention, " school aint for me, thats why Im tryin to get into this music game "lol...i want to be like riiiiiight. Your not gonna make it so just give it up...

True. I can spot out a "urea" person real quick now. I mean, i really don't mind em tho. I consider them part of the Howard "experience". If you're cool with them, they are cool with you. Well...except for when the dudes get a lil carried away with their advances. :?

Hell yeah Tuskegee have locals. I have not seen so many locals on a campus like they be here. I mean they be riding they bikes on campus, sitting on the benches talking, and all at the cafe. What happened to security.

OMG DO we!?!?! If you've EVER been to New Orleans for a day or so, you will definitely be able to spot out the locals! Especially here near Gert Town and the French Quarter. Here we tend to call them "whodies" (sounds like WHOA-Dees) or just flat out "the locals." It's cuz of THEM niccahs that we can't have block parties anymore! When I was a freshman we would have some tight azz block parties on main campus but they cut that shyt short cuz the locals kept fighting! Man, even when the RAs plan BBQs or anything big we have to go through EXTRA paperwork to make sure the locals don't come and mess shyt up. Man, it's crazy!

AAMU has locals. I'm a "local" but not the kind that you speak of, because #1, I actually went to A&M, and #2, I dont associate with the fools in this city.
