The Challenge
Your mission is to fill out your profile in the best, truthful, and interesting way you can. Use your sense of creativity and
style to come up with the hottest look and most interesting profile for other members to look at.
Think about ways to make your page as interesting as possible without going overboard with it.
The challenge is a contest of information and creativity. Let your creativity shine
and convince us why your profile is the best. The judges will cast their votes and select 5 winning profiles.
How to Win:
Creativity. Be creative in your descriptive profile information. Use the opportunity to convince us that your profile deserve to win.
Additionally, the judges will look favorably on submissions that are full of interest; we encourage you to upload a main profile photo of
youself and solicit a few guestbook entries on your profile.
The Best Profile Wins:
Grand Prize: One $750 cash prize.
The winning profile will be listed on the HBCUConnect.com homepage for a
week.

Official Contest Rules
To Enter
HBCUConnect is sponsoring "Who Has The Best Profile" Contest (the "Contest").
No purchase or subscription is necessary to enter this Contest. To enter you must complete a profile on the HBCUConnect website with your email and a complete profile ("eligible entry"). In addition to the required identifying information, an eligible entry must include any required fields as noted when filling out a profile. Any late or incomplete entries will be disqualified and HBCUConnect (and its agents) will not be responsible for such entries.
No entries eligible for the Contest will be accepted after 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, May 31, 2008.
Eligibility
To participate in the Contest you must be at least 16 years old and a legal resident of the United States. Employees and contractors of HBCUConnect, Lee Moss Media, and members of their immediate families are not eligible to enter. To be eligible, you must agree to abide by these rules and be bound by all HBCUConnect decisions relating to this Contest, which are final and binding in all respects, including but not limited to the determination of winners.
Prizes
Three Winners will receive either a $750, $175 or $75 cash prize.
Each Winner is responsible for the payment of all taxes associated with the receipt of any prize. No substitution or transfer of prizes permitted, except that if any prize is unavailable, HBCUConnect has the right to substitute a prize of substantially equal value. Non-monetary prizes may not be redeemed for cash.
Prizes will be awarded by HBCUConnect.
Judging
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by HBCUConnect. The judges will determine the Grand Prize, second, and third prize winners from the Contest entries based on the following two equally weighted factors:
Completeness. You must have a complete profile, including an approved profile photo. The more complete your profile is, the better, including friends.
Creativity. Be creative in your descriptive profile information. Use the opportunity to convince us that your profile deserve to win.
Because this is a Contest of completeness and creativity, winning the Contest is dependent on the number and quality of submissions received.
In the event of a tie, a tie breaker vote will be enforced with the CEO of HBCUConnect deciding the tie based on the same criterion listed above.
Winner Selection & Notification
If you are selected as a Contest winner, you agree and hereby grant permission to HBCUConnect to publicize your name, likeness, and the description of work you did to win the Contest, as well as publicize your profile. Apart from the prizes associated with being selected as a winner, HBCUConnect shall not be obligated to compensate you in any way for such publicity, unless prohibited by law. Entrants may request a list of winners by emailing HBCUConnect at culpepper@hbcuconnect.com.
Winner Requirements
The winning entry will be announced on the HBCUConnect.com site. Either following or before the announcement, individual winners will be notified by e-mail. Winners have 7 days from notification to claim the prize. The decision of the judges is final. The criteria that the judges will use to select the entry are set forth above in the "Judging Section." Winners must sign and notarize an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release that will be sent via mail or email, and must be returned to HBCUConnect within 7 days, in order for winners to be officially recognized. If the winner is unable to accept the prize, or if the winner does not return the signed Affidavit of Eligibility and Release within 7 days, HBCUConnect will automatically disqualify the winner. In the event of disqualification of a winner, HBCUConnect may replace the winner with the next runner-up at the sole discretion of the HBCUConnect. Winners must also sign any applicable forms required by tax authorities and prize suppliers. Prizes will only be awarded to a winner if he/she complies with these rules. Prize may be claimed by return e-mail. All taxes, including income taxes, are the sole responsibility of winners. No prize substitution is permitted. Winner(s) may be required to verify their entry.
Limitations of Liability:
HBCUConnect is not responsible for technical, hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, whether caused by HBCUConnect, or you or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in association with this contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions that may limit an entrants ability to participate in this contest. BY ACCEPTING DELIVERY OF THE PRIZE, WINNERS AGREE THAT THE PRIZE IS AWARDED ON THE CONDITION THAT HBCUCONNECT AND ITS AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES AND EMPLOYEES WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES, OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND RESULTING FROM ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION OR USE OF THE PRIZE. Winners further acknowledge that the foregoing parties have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee (express or implied, in fact or in law) in connection with the prize or the use or enjoyment of the prize. ALL PRIZES ARE AWARDED "AS IS" AND WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY SORT, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. IF THE MANUFACTURER OF THE PRIZE OFFERS A WARRANTY IT WILL BE MY RESPONSIBILITY TO SEEK WARRANTY SERVICE DIRECTLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER.
General Conditions:
If any provision of this Official Contest Rules is held to be illegal or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these rules shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. HBCUConnect reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the contest or to be acting in violation of these rules. If HBCUConnect determines, in its sole discretion, that the on-line portion of the Contest is compromised by virus, bug, robot entries, or other corruption of the administration, security or proper play of the contest, then, at its sole discretion, HBCUConnect can cancel this Contest. In the event of any non-compliance with any requirement stated herein, a winner's prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. This contest is governed by and shall be construed under the laws of the State of Ohio, U.S.A., without regard to the conflicts of law provisions therein. The prize will only be sent to a U.S. address, and will be subject to all applicable US taxes and withholding. This contest is void where prohibited or restricted by any relevant federal, state or local law, including but not limited to jurisdictions with laws that would require registration, disclosure, filing, trust account, or posting of a bond, or any other requirements that are not satisfied.
