Dawn possesses a Bachelor's in Journalism from The Ohio State University. Having participated in the Devry University
Information Technology Program, where she was awarded a scholarship to attend The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana
University to study non-profit development and fundraising in June 2007, she became a resource for managing the
marketing, public relations and business development efforts and developing an overall approach for media relations
for companies and organizations seeking to increase revenue and visibility.
She has proven success in planning and executing large scale events (non profit and for profit), corporate gift
solicitation, strategic partnerships, fundraising, grant writing, and proposal development. She serves on the board
of Africentric Personal Development Shop, Inc. (APDS) and was also a board member of Rodgers Neighborhood Basketball
Association and Chair of the Marketing and Media Committee for the King Arts Complex Anniversary Gala. She is
passionate about the arts, education, youth and women issues.
In her free time she enjoys working out and spending time with her daughter Nia.
