HBCU CONNECT Student Scholarship

Several $1,000 scholarships for students who attend or plan to attend an HBCU.

📅 Deadline: July 1st, 2026 Award: $1,000 🎓 HBCU students & incoming freshmen

About the program

HBCUCONNECT.COM is proud to announce the HBCU CONNECT Student Scholarship Program. The program makes available several $1,000 scholarships for applicants who attend or plan to attend a Historically Black College or University. Funds can be applied to tuition or books for the semester in which they are received (typically within 3 weeks of the submission date).

Founded in 1999, HBCU CONNECT is the largest student and alumni organization of HBCU supporters on the planet — and we have given away thousands in scholarship dollars to deserving college students.

Who's eligible

  • Students currently enrolled or planning to enroll at any Historically Black College or University within 6 months of the submission deadline.
  • Graduating high-school seniors, transfer students, and current HBCU students (proof of enrollment required).

📝 How it works

  • Complete the application below, including the brief essay and member registration questions.
  • All notifications throughout the application process are sent by email.
  • Use a valid, active email you check regularly — missed emails can remove you from consideration.

🏆 Disbursement & selection

Scholarships are awarded for one academic year and cover up to $1,000 of the student's tuition or books for the current academic year, as posted by the financial aid office. Scholarships are made through the designated school, are not transferable to other institutions, and may be used for tuition or books only (not other bursar charges).

HBCU CONNECT reviews all registrations and selects finalists based on:

● Eligibility ● Quality of content ● Resume ● Objectives ● Accomplishments ● Financial need
